I teach hulahoop and circus skills after school clubs in primary and secondary schools across Bristol. These sessions are a mixture of movement-based games and learning beginner friendly skills with circus equipment. Each skill is broken down into bite-sized steps, to ensure every child achieves and builds confidence.
We do lots of partner and group work. Children play, explore, and create. It’s a safe environment in which children are encouraged to be supportive of each-other and to share their awesome Hooper-Powers!
Here is a list of what we get up to:
- Hula-hooping
- Skipping with normal ropes, partner ropes, & giant ‘double dutch’ ropes
- Ball & scarf juggling
- Spinning plates
- Ribbon
- Flower sticks
- Diablos
- Poi
- Clowning
- Balloon animal making
- Fun games!
If you have children at Sefton Park, Ashton Gate, or Luckwell primary school, you can sign them up to this weekly after school club for a school term through Thrive Kids using this link: https://www.thrivekids.uk/classes#1621848381
I also teach the after school club at Trinity Academy secondary school.
In the school holidays I run circus holiday fun clubs at Sefton Park school. Children can attend even if they aren’t students at this school :).
As well as teaching circus, I teach kids fitness classes on Sundays at Nuffield North for gym members. Kids work their way around a range of heart-pumping, muscle-strengthening exercises, in a series of short bursts. It is always a playful adventure!
